A Great Community Theatre Tradition

In 1961, a couple of keen drama enthusiasts placed an ad in the local paper announcing a meeting for people who wanted to help put on a play.

Over 45 years later, the Nanaimo Theatre Group is still a group of people whose aim and passion is to produce exciting theatre. Each year, we proudly present a variety of plays, from time-honoured classics to crowd-pleasing comedy, in our home at the Bailey Studio. The quality of our endeavours is recognized in the many local and provincial festival awards we have earned. It’s all the result of the ongoing energy and dedication of a community of volunteers who love theatre.
